Biography
It is not easy to introduce Vincenzo Bianchi because of his versatile activity that touches all visual arts, from painting to sculpture, from graphics to video-art and graphic techniques; any plastic, material and materialising means is congenial to him and now he takes us by surprise with the use of the laser beam. He has been the first to test it not only on traditional materials, such as marble, iron, etc, but even on slabs and tablets, as it were a burin, creating ipso facto either the very thin incision of the etching or the heavier and thicker mark of the poker-work.
Bianchi's most important works of art are dedicated to a theme that has always fascinated mankind: peace and brotherhood among peoples.
Bianchi is the author of the monument to Europe "The new lcarus", whose message for a united Europe was perfectly stressed by the President of the European Parliament Henry Plumb, on the occasion of his visit to receive this work of art in Frosinone.
The President of the European Parliament Henry Plumb wrote: "Your name, Mr Bianchi, will be linked forever to that group of wise men who dared to launch the courageous message for a united Europe when it was still divided and lived on the memory of wounds and blood. I congratulate you on your sculptural work of art that seems to cover the space of a boundless future."
The work of art "The door of brotherhood ex Libro Pacis" is the result of a deep reading of the invisible "Strength of Love" which allows people from all walks of life, with a different cultural background and language to work together to build "the big house of peace".
Another monumental work, "The door of light ex Libro Pacis", was introduced on the occasion of the world conference of the "Sister Cities International", when 1200 twinned cities from all over the world met in the city of Lexington in Kentucky.
The model has been donated to the Columbus Day museum.
"The column of brotherhood" is the symbol of the twinning between the town of Subiaco and Ochenhausen in Germany, that took place in the name of St Benedict, the patron of Europe. The model of this work and that of the monument dedicated to St Benedict that will be erected with a new church on the Mount Livata, were blessed by the Pope during the general hearing of April the 5th 1993. "This work - explained the Abbot of Subiaco Monsignor Stanislao Andreotti - sets the seal on the message of peace and unity for the Christian Europe proclaimed by St Benedict".
It has to be underlined that a remarkable work, the first to be dedicated to the theme of Peace, has been carried out in Cervara di Roma. In this tiny jewel of the Mounts Simbruini, where the artist had already founded the "Museum of the European Mountain for Peace in the World through Art", whose manifesto was signed by the Nobel Prize Carlo Rubbia, and where skilful students of the Academy of the Fine Arts of Florence, under Master Bianchi's guidance, have left their sculptures along the Steps of the Artists, there is a unique work of art "The rock ex Libro Pacis". Images, faces, anthropomorphic figures, boasted feelings have emerged, with patient and silent labour, out of a big limestone set among walls ands roofs. It is the first page of a carved book dedicated to peace.
All Vincenzo Bianchi's innovative creativity is confirmed by his unusual teaching career, which has allowed him to experiment skilfully all the most advanced graphic, sculptural, pictorial techniques. After starting his teaching career in the Professional Industrial schools, the artist has taught in the Junior School, in the Senior High School specialising in technical education, then in the Senior High School specialising in artistic education, finally in the Academies of the Fine Arts of Catanzaro, Frosinone, Urbino, first as an assistant then as a tenured professor of painting and sculpture. Appointed Director of the Academy of the Fine Arts of Macerata, he held the first chair of sculpture of the Academy of the Fine Arts in Florence till 2006.
Bianchi has carried out the big sculpture for the European Parliament of Strasbourg "... The new lcarus..." - whose models have been given to the Museum of the Polish Parliament, to the Nobel Prize the first minister Shimon Perez, to the president of the lsraeli Parliament Chain Herzog - and the Mountain of Europe dedicated to The Sacrifice at Work in Subiaco, the irradiant centre of St Benedict, the patron of Europe.
Master Bianchi has given the silver model of the monument ...Peace...Faith...Progress... dedicated to the sacrifice at work in the world carried out for the section ANMIL of Frosinone to the Nobel Prize for Peace Michail Gorbaciov who has adopted it as the logo of his prestigious association. The same model has been given to the Mayor of Skopje in Macedonia and to the pro tempore President of the Region Lazio Mr Badaloni.
In 1998 and in 2000 Bianchi was invited to the International Poetry Award of Struga, the capital of poetry, in Macedonia; on this occasion the Committee commissioned the translation of fifty of his poetic thoughts in Macedonian language and he was honoured to read one of his poems on the stage built on the river Drin.
He was invited by the President of the big Japanese organisation, the Fujiankei Group, to propose a programme for the year 2001, that Japan wanted to dedicate to Italy, which took place in the biggest open air museum of the world "The Hakone Open Air Museum".
The artist has carried out in Jordan on the Mount Nebo where Moses died a sculpture 5.5 metres high dedicated to the " People's Book ".
On the occasion of the Pope's journey to the Holy Land Vincenzo Bianchi has carried out the ambo for the Church of the Flagellation in Jerusalem and two medals which have been handed out to the Pope, one at the beginning of His journey on the Mount Nebo and the other at the end of it, in the cave of Bethlehem.
In 1998 in a general hearing Bianchi was received by the Pope John Paul Il and he gave Him the "Rock of the Mountain of Europe for Peace".
The same work has been given to the President of the Italian Republic Oscar Luigi Scalfaro by the mayor of Cervara di Roma together with the Macedonian delegation.

In 2007 The International Academy "Mihai Eminescu" and the European Foundation "Mihai Eminescu" of Craiova - Romania gave him an International award for poetry and sculpture with the publication of fifty of his poems.

Moreover remarkable is Bianchi's activity as a collaborator and assistant of Museums such as the Museum of the information of Senigallia, the museum of the Mail Art of Mon tecarotto (Ancona), the museum of the Ex Libri of San Paolo of Jesi (Ancona), the Museum of the Resistance of Marzabotto, and as a founder of museums. "The Labyrinth of Vincenzo Bianchi's museums" is really marvellous.
In the years 2008/2009 the Academy "Mihai Eminescu" - Romania - supported his nomination to the Nobel Prize of Peace.

As mentioned before, Vincenzo Bianchi has been the first to work with the laser beam and to study all its possible effects and applications in the difficult field of the visual arts. What strikes us most is his imaginative reasoning and the charming themes that he deals with. Leader of the movement of the "New Primitives", he carried out a great exposition in the Museum of the Abbey of Casamari whose theme was ". . . Energy... Light... Shape... ". His time and his space come "... From the genesis .... to the horrid...." , "From energy to matter", from the rhythmic joint of the ... gesture-sign-symbol..., from "The fall of the Angel", "From the Earth to the Cosmos", "From the Gesture to the Sign... from the Symbol to the Power..." "From the Hominid to the Homo Sapiens".. . "Itinerarium in Mente Hominis" (Subiaco), "The Time of the mark, the Mark of Time" (Fiuggi), " ....Art ... Religion...Science' (Subiaco).
He has inaugurated a new canon of reading Art, where everything is settled with all kinds of means, not least the gold and silver embossing. But the new Primitives' world does not seem to know bounds and it is right since Time and Space have no bounds and human mind is so rich of inexhaustible imagination as to overcome any bound, to enter the fourth dimension where the criterion of reading is the new alphabet of intelligence. This is the source of Bianchi's works "From the fetishism to the sacred", "The door of Light", "Icarus", "The door of Brotherhood", "Ex Libro Pacis", rich in symbolism and images, which have led him to feel the desire to found a school "The Stoa" where it is possible to teach like in the past, where the teacher and the student were all the same, in perfect symbiosis and harmony with history.

Vincenzo Bianchi's latest efforts have been the projection on a mount of the Ciociaria, precisely in Fontana Liri, his native town, of a laser show "...The crystal mountain..." and for the first time an exhibition of laser works, a perfect symbiosis of painting and sculpture "... When the masks dream of being angels...".
Vincenzo Bianchi's artistic and teaching activity is a continuous and incessant search for truth, harmony, communion among peoples.
His works are an unconditioned representation of the human being.
Bianchi's activity ranges over all the visual arts: sculpture - painting - engraving - ceramics - graphics - photography - stage designing - laser graphics.
Vincenzo Bianchi was born in Fontana Liri (FR) the 28.05.1939.
He lives in Isola del Liri. He is the director of the Museum of Ancient and Modern Art in Casamari. He has taught sculpture at the Academies of the Fine Arts of Catanzaro, Frosinone, Urbino. He has run the Academy of Macerata, and was professor of Sculpture at the Academy of the Fine Arts in Florence till 2006.
He has achieved important prizes and acknowledgements in Italy and in many foreign countries:
- Counsellor Fine Arts of National University of Toronto-Canada,
- Doctorem Honoris Causa in Fine arts - Universitas Internationalis Studiorum Superiorum "Pro Deo"- New York,
- International Certificate of merit of the International Institute of Arts in Zurich,
- Gold medal of the European Centre of Cultural Initiatives at the European biannual exhibition of Delphi Greece,
- An important artistic prize Vincenzo Bianchi prize has been endowed in Niigata, Japan.
He has exhibited his works in Japan, Australia, Canada, USA, Tunisia, Mexico, France, Egypt, Yugoslavia, Greece, Switzerland, Macedonia, Argentina.
He has also spent a lot of periods of artistic research in Germany, Poland, Russia, Israel, Turkey, Spain, Holland, England, Jordan, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Siria, Mongolia and Cina. He is particularly known in the field of sculpture, but he is also excellent in painting and graphic arts.
In Bianchi's work the technique, exalted also by a Renaissanc-like craftsmanship, is a means for interpreting reality and a specific way of confronting grand cultural traditions (not only the Western ones).
He is the leader of the movement called "The New Primitives".
He has founded the first Republic of the artists on the internet.
